Potentially good news

In early July, Bangor Marine Ltd responded positively to a new alternative design concept developed by local Architects within our group and did not rule out progressing it alongside the current application. They have asked their professional advisors for guidance on the potential and we await their response.

We’d now like to gauge community support for this compromise proposal that would benefit Bangor’s regeneration before taking it further.

Please click the button below ASAP if you support the proposal in principle. Thank you.

Design concept

Bangor Boulevard – Transform Queen’s Parade into an elegant landscaped boulevard with 70+ premium parking spaces and a hotel drop-off area, all within the existing development boundary, thus enhancing the value of the pavilions and commercial properties.

Enhanced pavilion parking – Adapt the already approved parking layout to provide 30+ additional spaces drawing Pickie Park visitors past the new play park and West Pavilion, increasing visitor footfall past the pavilions and local businesses.

Total parking: 100+ spaces

Delivers Phase 1 as scheduled – The Phase 1 development can proceed and be funded without delay, with only an amendment to current approved plans.

Protects Marine Gardens West – Construct the accessible pirate ship play park as approved, without sacrificing green amenity space for a car park.

Key benefits of the boulevard proposal:

Retains the green frontage and gardens
Improves pavilion and accessible parking (100+ spaces total)
Includes cycle stands in line with active travel initiatives
Better supports the wider development and pavilion facilities
Increases footfall for Bangor businesses with a direct link to the city centre
Reduces council maintenance costs
Delivers a practical, community-backed solution
• Creates a landscaped urban boulevard advancing future city initiatives
